A trained, supervised team — not a stranger off a list.
Everyone who works in a THR33 household completes a structured training and supervision pathway first. We don't dispatch first-day workers. Here's the pathway in full.
From application to a household in five stages.
A new hire takes 4 to 6 weeks to clear onboarding before being scheduled into a household.
- 01Week 1
Application and screening
CV, in-person interview, two-employer references, work-pass verification with MOM, national criminal record check. About 1 in 6 applicants moves forward.
Pass rate~17%
- 02Weeks 2–3
WSQ-certified training
Environmental cleaning and housekeeping operations; Basic First Aid + CPR + AED; Infection Prevention & Control; safe chemical and manual handling. Delivered through SkillsFuture-approved training partners.
Training hours~80 hrs
- 03Week 4
THR33 standards calibration
Hands-on calibration against our room-by-room register: sequence, finish, what 'done' looks like, household privacy, and how to raise something rather than work around it. Scenario role-play with operations leads.

- 04Weeks 5–6
Supervised shadow shifts
Six paid shifts shadowing a senior team member in real households. Each shift debriefed. Only after a supervisor signs off does anyone go onto their own roster.

Quarterly refresher + First Aid re-cert
A paid half-day refresher every quarter. First Aid + CPR + AED re-validated annually. Nobody continues on a roster without a current certificate on file.
CadenceQuarterly
What every THR33 team member learns.
Four WSQ modules form the regulatory floor. Four THR33 modules sit on top — the difference between meeting the rule and meeting the bar.
Environmental cleaning & housekeeping operations
Room sequence, surface and floor care, washroom standards, waste handling, finish and inspection.
Basic First Aid, CPR & AED
Standard SCDF-aligned curriculum. Re-validated annually.
Infection Prevention & Control
Hand hygiene, PPE, cross-contamination, household-level outbreak response.
Chemical & manual handling
Dilution, storage, ventilation, safe lifting, ladder and reach limits, fall prevention.
The room-by-room register
The written standard every session runs off. Sequence, finish, and what 'done' looks like in each room.
Working inside someone's home
PDPA, no photos of homes, no recordings, what's yours to touch and what isn't, who sees the session note.
Talking with the household
What to flag, when to call, how to write a useful session note. No alarmism, no quiet workarounds.
Escalation & judgement
When to phone a supervisor inside a shift. When to call 995. When to wait.
The stack we're building before elder-minding opens.
Elder-minding sits on top of everything above, not beside it. Carers add WSQ certification in Provide Care and Support for the Elderly, manual handling and transfers, and dignity-led personal care — then shadow a senior carer in real households before a supervisor signs anything off.
When the service opens, every household gets the deployed worker's training record, certifications and tenure in writing before the first visit is booked.
Training doesn't end on day one.
Every Monday the whole team sits around the same table with the week's roster. It's where last week's sessions get debriefed and this week's households get talked through, by name.

Supervisor-to-team ratio
One operations supervisor covers no more than eight people. They know your roster, your home, and the team on it personally.
Weekly team huddle
Team and supervisors meet every Monday to review last week's sessions, surface concerns, and agree what changes this week.
Field observation cycle
Everyone is observed on a live session at least every 90 days. Observations are debriefed and logged against our standards.
Training is half the story.
The other half is how we treat the people we train. The two are inseparable.
